The Game

Go is the oldest board game played in original form, originating in China from between 1,000 and 2,000 years BC. The rules of Go are very simple and easy to learn, but the number of possible games exceeds the number of atoms in the universe.

Go is played by millions of people worldwide, particularly in China, Japan, Korea and Taiwan; and has a rich history and culture of its own.

For more information, see the British Go Association's excellent What is Go? page.
